When my client, Karen Koehler and SKWC, suggested doing a photo shoot that involved a more unique look, I was excited! No more lining people up! She used Annie Leibovitz’s work in Vanity Fair as an example of the look she was going for. Photographing large groups of people can be a challenge, but I couldn’t wait. While the law firm is located in Seattle’s lower Queen Anne neighborhood, the shoot was at the Washington Athletic Club. The funny thing is that the photo was done as a general law firm portrait. But with Karen’s placement in the photo, it just happened to work great for an advertisement honoring Karen for inclusion on the 2012 Top 50 Women Washington Super Lawyers list. Congratulations Karen Koehler!

Thank you snow for allowing me some time to catch up on my blogging! After doing this families pregnancy portrait, I had the honor of photographing their son at 6-days-old. It is really incredible to see infants as they adapt to their new world. As always, feedback is greatly appreciated. Warmly, Meryl

I was very busy in September photographing some beautiful pregnant ladies! These are two different women that I just had to post on my blog. I have so many more photos from the maternity session yet to process, but I just wanted to share these sooner rather than later! Also, please note that I do nude photos when desired, but out of respect for my clients privacy, I don’t post them on my blog.

Carter is a very active two-year-old. It may look like he is standing still, but I can assure you, he was not! My photojournalism background comes in very handy when following children running around in their environment. Carter was photographed on-location in his West Seattle home. What a blast! I also photographed him jumping on his parents bed, running around naked (what a tush! -:)) and his quiet moods too. But we’ve save those for his parents. I love documenting children as they really are. Meryl
