Meryl Schenker is a national award winning photographer based in Seattle with twenty years experience in photojournalism, portraiture and special event photography. She spent twelve years as a staff photographer at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer newspaper until it ceased publication in March 2009. Now, as a small business owner, she enjoys working with families to tell their stories in personal photos, while pursuing her talents in documentary, editorial and corporate photography.

Meryl’s background in photojournalism gives her the experience to shoot in almost any setting. She has a natural ability to put people at ease during their photo sessions, and brings outstanding attention to detail in every image.

Meryl is available for business portraits, corporate and editorial photography, book projects, family portraits, high school seniors, special occasion photography including weddings and bar and bat mitzvahs, as well as maternity photos and childbirth documentation. She is at comfortable with all types of people, and looks forward to capturing your special moments to preserve them for years to come.

Meryl lives in West Seattle and enjoys fly fishing, gardening, and skiing. Her love of travel has taken her to Antarctica, South Africa, Korea, Chile, Argentina, Bosnia, Belize and Costa Rica. In January 2011, she traveled to Cuba.
