Seattle Pregnancy Photography

I love celebrating the shape of the pregnant body. I also enjoy providing maternity photographs to my clients that show off their happiness with the pregnancy and their unique personality at the same time. Nicole just happened to bring this cool hat to our session in my Seattle studio and it added a nice touch!

Each session is different. The session is customized to you and your desires and is a collaboration between us. Some photo shoots are on-location and some are in the studio. Just like pregnancy, no two are alike!

New Gates Foundation building

This is part two of my assignment for The New York Times.

The Gates Foundation will be relocating to this double horseshoe set of buildings across the street from the Space Needle.

I rode the elevator of The Needle to get the perspective of the EMP and Gates Foundation Building together to show how Paul Allen and Bill Gates have impacted Seattle, post Microsoft.

New Amazon.com building

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to photograph the new Amazon.com and Gates Foundation building exteriors for the New York Times. I really enjoyed the assignment! I photographed them in the late afternoon on a beautiful Saturday, between days of rain. This post is the new Amazon.com buildings. The campus is extensive and growing in the South Lake Union area of Seattle.

West Seattle ballerina

This is why you always need to have your camera handy. My trusty Canon g-11 has enabled me to carry a fully manual professional grade camera around, without the weight, and has helped to renew me!

Seattle Wedding Photojournalism

It is always interesting to me how, over time, I change my mind on my favorite photos; and, how the favorites of the bride and groom are often different from the favorite photos of the photographer. I always planned on a second post for Meghan and Ryan involving our Pike Place Market location, but I have also included some different images from the West Seattle location, and some of Meghan’s favorites. I hope you enjoy some of these offbeat bride photos.

West Seattle Wedding Photos-part 1

Meghan and Ryan had alittle mishap with their wedding photographer- not a professional photographer. They ended up with no photos of themselves together from their wedding. So, three months after their wedding, after the winter had passed, they hired me to do some photos in West Seattle. The West Seattle couple really wanted to see the special place they call home, so we went down to Harbor Ave, near the West Seattle water taxi, and had some fun!

Seattle photographer and The Puyallup Fair

Last September I spent a day at the Puyallup Fair looking for images. I walked into an extremely dark horse barn at the end of the show and found a striking Graysen Stroud listening to the judges. As I try to collect my favorite images, I came across this which I hadnt had a chance to post during the busy Fall season.

West Seattle Newborn

Congratulations to Kate and Marisa on their beautiful baby girl. I photographed them when Marisa was pregnant, and then when Camila was born, and I hope to document their lovely family for years to come.

Bridger and Dillon-Seattle Toddlers

I call this documentary family photography- Photographing children in their own environment. Bridger and Dillon didn’t stop moving, but that didnt stop me from capturing them! I love this type of photography as it suits my photojournalism background.

Kathleen and Matt-Wedding Photography

Wow, it is difficult to believe it’s been almost two months since I’ve posted. The good news is the reason- I was swamped with work in September and October, which is a very good thing for a freelance photographer. For this church wedding we went to Lincoln Park first for the photos of the bride and groom. And, I was fortunate to have the help of photographer Ellen Banner. Here are some photos from the fabulous wedding!
